SAKAI KOUKODOU YAMAFUJI & SEIGA are Ukiyo-e stores with long history and tradition located in Asakusa. They inherit the bloodlines of the SAKAI family collections currently owned by the Japan Ukiyo-e Museum. The Sakai family from Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture collected more than 100,000 Ukiyo-e paintings in the two hundred years, including a Ka-ke-ji-ku (hanging scrolls) paintings, screen and sliding-door paintings, old painted book boxes, and modern prints. To date, the collection has received excellent reviews from experts, scholars and connoisseurs from around the world.
